Ladies and Gents of New York and Los Angeles, allow me to change your life. Let me introduce one of the greatest internet finds EVER: Lifebooker!
This past year, while living in Houston, I was diagnosed with a painful, chronic condition. On one particular day when I was struggling with handling the discomfort, my boyfriend suggested I get a massage. At that point I’d only received two professional massages, both gifts from other people. I was sort of in the camp of thinking massages were overindulgent and hesitated to take his advice. However, in the state I was in, I was willing to give anything a shot. The massage did the trick that day providing some much needed temporary relief. I continued to “gift” them to myself as needed and quickly lost the guilt associated with the indulgent nature.
A few months later I returned to New York. While I was glad to be back, I knew there was no way I’d be able to afford Manhattan massage prices. Enter Lifebooker.
Lifebooker is a website that connects its members to discount spa services in the cities of New York and Los Angeles. Services provided include massages, haircuts, waxing, tanning, manicures, facials, nutritional consults, detoxification packages, teeth whitening and more. The website is extremely user friendly, with excellent filters to specify appointment dates and times that work for you. Discounts are often 50% of the retail price at some of the top salons and spas in both cities. When you book an appointment through Lifebooker, you are awarded “bonuses” that you can use toward future appointments. There is an abundance of reviews for specific services by other members.
So the next time you are contemplating a little self-pampering but are worried about its effect on your pocketbook, check out the deals that are waiting for you!
And for the men out there….if you think this post does not apply to you, think again. Lifebooker has a special section, “Just for Guys,” that connects you with services geared specifically towards men.

That sounds great! Maybe it will spread nationwide soon.
I'm going to have to get involved in that website!
What a great find, Kathleen! Perhaps I'll "gift" myself a massage next time I'm in the city!
